Alum Spotlight: Rachel Pellom '20 founded OutVenture, an outdoors group for LGBTQ+ youth that meets for cycling, hiking, creek exploration, and other outings. Rachel applied for and was awarded a grant by the City of Durham from their Youth Leadership Fund.

Last Friday, our Middle School Gym became a Broadway stage 🎭🎤 where Vault Theatre camp performed their Aristocats Musical to friends, families, and guests. A round of non-stop applause rewarded our theater stars for such a fantastic achievement!

Our sixth-graders created four trails around #DukeSchool campus and a sculpture garden for their final project this year. Our upstanders became advocates for small changes that can have a significant impact and how people can improve their communities through design thinking.

First graders held poetry readings during the last week of school. After researching the structural elements of poetry, students wrote original poems which they read aloud to families and guests in attendance. Well done!
