I completely understand what your saying, but once a believer really ponders and studies this thought, we really get stuck. We get stuck in accepting that having faith in a merciful God that saved our soul is the greatest gift we could ever recieve. It was nothing we did but completely something that He does or did for us. Father have mercy on us!

Just ponder these:

It’s biblically clear that only the holyspirit enters the life and transforms the person from within. Jesus explained this to Nikodemus as being “Born again.”

If God is the only one that can decide when someone is ready to be saved, and we know that He is the only one that can save, then isn’t it like God going back on his decision to save a soul, if that person can just lose their soul?

Furthermore, when Jesus prays to the Father he is very clear that whoever the Father gives him, he will not lose. First he prays for his disciples and then for all believers that “The Father gives him.”
