#mentalhealthmatters#dukesletstalk
Tomorrow, we'll be wearing green ribbon decals on our helmets as we partner with @HilinskisHope for College Football Mental Health Week.
This call to action is focused on eliminated the stigma around mental health and increasing awareness of mental health resources.
#GoDukes
From October 1-8, we will come together nationwide to fight stigma and increase resources on campuses. While we might take opposing sides on the field, this week all of us will stand together. Thank you for telling student-athletes their #MentalHealthMatters and #YouAreNotAlone.
These are just a few of the many messages written anonymously by student-athletes this Thursday at our gathering. Overarching theme - you are so loved and you are never alone.💜 @DukesLetsTalk @Dukes_LEAD @JMUSports
Before you start the week, check in with yourself to see if you're mentally prepared or if you need a mental health day.

Today we welcome back Mental Health Awareness Month! All month long, we’re talking with students, bringing back the #3for3 challenge, hosting conversations with experts in the field, and creating space to hear from all of you. You are not alone.
May is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth and we want you to know that it’s okay to ask about mental health. Here’s how to have the conversation with your community. Tell us how you #AlwaysAsk.
Take some time to appreciate and respect your body. It’s gotten you through a global pandemic, and it’s doing a great job. You deserve to love your body.
Whatever IT is: identity, purpose, depression, anxiety, how to cope ➡ Whoever YOU are: student-athlete, coach, athletic trainer, parent/guardian, sports psychologist, friend ➡ We’re all on the same TEAM. So, let’s talk. 🗣 Let’s tackle the mental game together🎙#TEAMSIDELINED
As we can see, student-athlete mental health is still as much a concern as it was at the beginning of the pandemic. Let’s pay attention to these numbers & invest in resources. This survey says a lot & we need to make the effort to listen 🙌 #AthleteMentalHealth@NCAA
