@GigaChadwick@lynaevanee it took about 100 years after it was abolished for slavery to actually be punishable. so for 100 years slavery was "dying out" but whites still owned slaves where law enforcement were too unconcerned or scared to go and enforce.
December 6, 1865 is when it became illegal .
That doesn’t mean people gave up there slaves
Nor were there law enforcement willing to enforce the law .
Also the ones were set free
given the mental state of the people who looked at them like cattle still treated them like slaves
Many slaves ended up in jail because they had no id
Let’s not forget who defined “Black” & “white” to sell the illusion
And how the stacked the idea of “great” / “better” under the premise of economy that they left the darkies out of in the first place ..
Humans are still slaves and don’t know it.
They’re paying to live on a free planet
That no one can claim they own … with the exception of the darkies ..
They did start humanity.. they even came with shade & spf built in to their melanated skin 🐇🕳️👌🏿
So I have a Masters in African American studies everybody🫤 . I know it started in 1619, I know it lasted 400 years but so many conservatives and racists conflate the statement to distance themselves from something that was actually very recent. That’s all I was saying.
@notcapnamerica I was crying too. It's sad and frustrating that AJ can be killed in front of her children and the person who did it is at home. The neighbors said the murderer was sitting on her porch this morning drinking coffee like nothing happened.
@hausofsyy Growing up my parents would talk mad stuff abt me if I stayed in pjs past 11am. I’m always dressed even in the house 😭 and God forbid I went outside like that. They’d roast me!
