AFRICA DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS | Business Breakfast

Last week, Unisa officially launched its 16th Africa Day celebrations in Cape Town with the high-level "NEPAD at 25 Years" Business Breakfast.

Hosted in partnership with the Thabo Mbeki Foundation, the engagement formed part of a week-long programme that brought together leaders from government, academia, business, youth, and civil society to reflect on Africa's development journey and future prospects.

Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Puleng @LenkaBula, Unisa once again demonstrated its commitment to advancing Pan-African scholarship, thought leadership, and meaningful dialogue on issues shaping the continent.

The event welcomed distinguished continental and national leaders, including representatives of the African Union, AUDA-NEPAD, the Pan-African Parliament, and the Deputy President of South Africa, underscoring the significance of the conversations hosted by the university.

As Unisa continues its journey of impact and transformation, the Africa Day programme reaffirmed the institution's role as a leading voice in promoting African unity, renewal, and sustainable development.
