with how scary the current political climate is, i just figured i should make my stances 100% clear. if you disagree with any of them youβre not welcome on my page
altho i have some personal critiques over some of the other elements, i think they've cooked with their new/current approach to forerunner holographics, namely:
- the "infinity mirror" effect, prevalent through parts of CE and Halo 3
- more sigil based iconography, this is a pretty significant deviation from classic Halo but it looks very interesting, so I'm curious to see how they've approach the other device machines.
i think forerunner structures (namely interiors) err a bit too much still on "shiny metal" rather than "alien concrete" for my personal taste as the repeated interior imagery is a lot like Infinite where it's just lots of "dark blue shine" everywhere, but things are continuing to approach a more positive direction that I think both respects the original look and heightens the other work of artists and designers in each level space.
the shininess of things also was a big issue for their lumen / reflections and GI paths. it still looks mottly in places where it's very metal-intensive, like the entrance to b30's interior chasms, but it's good to see they were able to clean or filter out the really serious artifacts from last year
