@JonKula@DanNeidle Agree it’s a strange quirk but it’s the optics of giving people on £120k+ a tax cut. Would need to be part of a broader tax cuts for those less well off as well.
@FinanceTiger You’re financially illiterate then. You’d lose out on tax relief (even at the lower 20%) and employers contributions. If 20% tax relief is good enough for low earners why not high earners?

@implausibleblog A VAT cut would cost £12bn per year and wouldn’t result in lower prices for consumers. Better the government accepted they screwed up and reversed the NI increases that started it all in the first place.
