Exposure to nature is a coping strategy, which has positive effects on individuals. In times like this we depend on natural environments more than ever for our wellbeing. SLDG are distressed at the loss of dunes and vegetation over the last couple of weeks at Semaphore and Largs.
Come along to our Community Weeding Day next Saturday. You will be working with the fabulous Trees For Life who will answer any questions about plants in the dunes 🌱🌿

This work is way too close to the sensitive #semaphore sand dunes and is channeling walkers through the fragile dunes. It is disheartening to see such #ecological disturbance in the dunes and on the beach. Shouldn't we work with nature rather than confront it? @SAEnvirWater
Semaphore Largs Dunes Group have been busy planting and weeding over the last few weeks. We have planted over 2,000 plants in the dunes and along the coastal path. We will be busy weeding and caring for the plants… https://t.co/IhZbpwHIIX
Another excellent morning planting in the dunes on Monday. We are lucky to have fantastic volunteers. We are looking forward to seeing these indigenous plants spreading in the dunes. Thank you to @CityofPAE

This area in the dunes north of the Semaphore jetty was covered with weeds last year. After removing the weeds we planted local indigenous plants. It is looking remarkably good even after the very hot summer #loveourdunes
