While many folks use the summer to reset, vacation or play, our @Cronkite_ASU PR Lab students used the summer to advance their education. Today, we hosted our summer semester final client presentations and they did an AMAZING job. Congrats to this hard-working team! Fork 'em!
One of our clients, @StateFortyEight Foundation was featured in a couple of local papers. Did you know State Forty Eight had a Foundation, too? Read more about this new 501c3 here. Props to @DunnettKaylin for securing the coverage.
I created a podcast episode with hairdresser and leatherworker Sandra Teal about her handmade brand Salon Armor. Give it a listen if you're curious! https://t.co/TxGWwBocKi

I published an article about the Onigiri Action workshop I livetweeted about in January! I dove deeper into the background of the workshop and how the event brought students together.
https://t.co/kgR7zkBOXL I interviewed my mother, Paula Dunnett, regarding her thoughts on education, what she would change about the field, and how she believes critical thinking is key to student success. #audiointerview
Tricking, an urban sport, combines many different types of activity, including breakdancing, gymnastics and parkour. Cole Dunnett, a 15-year-old high schooler, likes that the sport allows him to develop his own unique style.

@tablefor2_usa does workshops with classrooms all over the US— people participate from elementary schools all the way through college, and they have engaged organizations and community gatherings in the name of charitable action #ZoomKitchen
Everyone with their #OnigiriAction boxes and panda-shaped onigiri! Before eating, Japanese people say “いただきます”, or ‘Itadakimasu’, a message of gratitude before meals. #ZoomKitchen
Onigiri Action is a charitable campaign as well. While the campaign is typically done in the fall, posting a photo of onigiri with the #OnigiriAction website sponsors a meal for up to 5 children in need. #ASUSILC
We made a panda-shaped onigiri with a rice press and nori (seaweed). These types of decorative rice balls are common in Japanese bento, or lunch boxes. #OnigiriAction
“Wa shoku”- 和食 means Japanese food, while “Shokuiku”-食育 is food education. It embodies nutrition, manners, appreciation towards food, and food environment. Wa Shokuiku, one of Table For Two’s programs, translates to “Japanese food education”. #ZoomKitchen
Table For Two is a nonprofit organization that centers food insecurity as well as the promotion of healthy eating. It began in Japan and now operates globally. Onigiri Action is one of three programs the organization puts on. #ZoomKitchen
Osamu Taki said that TFT’s choice to source their rice from Iris Ohyama was poignant. “I would like for the participants in ASU to share Japanese companies like them [who] have supported the reconstruction of Japan since the disaster... and now support your local communities.”
Rice is sourced by @irisohyama_info, a company headquartered in the Tohoku region. I interviewed @JETROUSA’s Chief Executive Director Osamu Taki this week about its significance. Iris Ohyama contributed to rebuild after the 2011 earthquakes through rice production. #ASUSILC
Today I’ll be live-tweeting Table For Two’s #OnigiriAction workshop occurring with ASU’s #SILC department! It will all be conducted through Zoom. Preparing my ingredients now in anticipation for the event. Students learning the Japanese language will be participating!
