Congratulations to pupils on their superb A-level results. I'm not only proud of their academic successes but also achievements in sport, on the stage, DofE awards, as fundraisers & leaders. As compassionate & courageous young people, I wish them the best for adventures ahead.
Wishing our Dunottar pupils all the best for their A-Level grades tomorrow. You have faced the challenges of the last year positively, tenaciously & as true Warrior Learners. Remember – great things are possible! I look forward to seeing you in school tomorrow for your results.
Today, we are recognising the achievements of Years 11 and 13 at our annual Prize Giving. Pupils will always be part of a supportive community that has encouraged a sense of belonging, courage, creativity and a belief in themselves to face every challenge as Warrior Learners.
At Dunottar, we recognise that good mental health is essential for our pupils’ well-being & achievement. Today, @thisishyphen will be speaking to Year 9, 10 & 12 pupils about his mental health story & what he has learnt about finding happiness & optimism. #MentalHealthAwareness
Congratulations to our new Head of School and Deputy Heads of School. Well done to everyone who took part in the process. We wish our outgoing Heads of School every luck as they move onto their next phase. #TheDifferenceIsDunottar#BeYourBest
Congratulations to the next Head of School, Sophie N & our two Deputy Heads, Cameron L & Hope B. I wish them every luck in their new leadership roles. It is also a fond farewell from the school community to our outgoing Heads of School, Lucy M and Joseph K. #WarriorLearners
I'm delighted that Dunottar has been included in this year's Tatler Schools Guide of the best independent schools in the country. Tatler highlights our focus on creative & courageous warrior learning, the value placed on knowing every child as an individual & our community ethos.
It has been a year like no other. Amid a world of masks, social distancing, bubbles, COVID tests & remote learning, Dunottar has remained resilient - supporting each other & the wider community. Today, we come together to reflect & look to a brighter future. #DayOfReflection
I am delighted to welcome pupils back to school today. It is wonderful to be together - to feel the buzz of excitement, hear the laughter and see so many smiling faces. As a community, we are here to support and look after each other and enable pupils to be the best they can be.
In line with government guidance, our fantastic team has transformed the ballroom into a COVID-19 testing zone. Trained members of staff & volunteers will be on hand to reassure & supervise pupils undertaking their lateral flow tests. We cannot wait to welcome our pupils back!
Einstein once said, “Do not worry about your difficulties in math. I can assure you that mine are still greater.” As educators, we support our pupils to challenge themselves, take risks, pursue their passions and goals, ask for help and never underestimate their ability.
Remote learning provides a new challenge, which can be exhausting for our brains. A chess player can burn up to 6000 calories a day while playing in a tournament! Like our bodies, brains need rest and fuel, so this weekend - relax, get outside, exercise and connect with friends.
It has been a hugely challenging time for sport & it is more important than ever for students to stay active for their physical & mental health. @DunottarSport has responded by providing creative & unique opportunities for students to train, compete, be inspired & to have fun.
Our Estates Team is integral to the Dunottar community. They keep our site running safely & smoothly for all our pupils & staff. I would like to thank them for their dedication and enthusiasm, working behind the scenes to maintain & improve our beautiful school & grounds.
I could not be more proud of our school. This week I have been entertained by Year 8's music concert, felt inspired by Ciara's cycling challenge, admired delicious Bake Off entries, enjoyed the buzz of Sixth Form taster day & the creativity & tenacity in today's House challenge.
What an experience for our @DunottarSixth students, as they got to take the iconic walk from the KIA Oval’s Long Room down to the hallowed turf to run various sessions today @SurreyCricketFd
