@_get2sammyb It's actually worse than the PS2 to PS3 launch.... actually now I'm thinking about it, eerily similar in some ways. And that lead to the success of the Xbox 360...
@davidgburns No, I mean, you wouldn't be able to play on the handheld. If you bought both devices, you would be buying digital games, not physical - you would be aware of the situation.
Definitely a valid point. Though I can't see many people having both the handheld PS6 and console at current prices. Therefore, the people affected by this would be served by the already existent ecosystem of digital+physical.
Another key point - if PS6 will have some sort of handheld option (standalone or hybrid), then disc versions of games would complicate and restrict. Anyone buying the handheld later would be unable to play their physical games. So guess Sony see this as cleaner from the outset.
@SheriefFYI How big a disparity are you imagining? RDNA5 cache hierarchy is rumoured to be very efficient and RDNA4 didn't require huge bandwidth to be competitive with NV (around 30% lower BW with similar compute). Big issue could be capacity but, again, what size are you imagining?
So, one aspect of the digital-only Playstation initiative... are they going to actually release a console with sufficient goddamn storage? We need to legislate "equal" pricing for all users and not allow them to get away with this variable pricing they've been rolling out...
It's like Xbox and PlayStation are competing in the Turd-in-a-Punch-Bowl Olympics and they are jockeying back and forth to see who "wins."
Today it's Sony's turn to demoralize gamers: https://t.co/1xu3e50jL6
@Sebasti66855537@wccftech You never made an argument for it thriving - especially given the service closures. So, I don't think you even tangentially proved this - do we have any evidence of any service which is NOT heavily subsidised? Geforce now is heavily subsidised... and likely still a loss-leader...
@Sebasti66855537@wccftech Finally, the last sentence is just a rehash of all previous articles on the subject. Pretty much literally every other article I've ever read has been "cloud gaming will just 'add' to the ecosystem, not replace it" (same for subscription services).
@tohofuny IQ is such a flawed concept and, even worse, ineptly calculated and/or measured. Anything measured which can vary by a large margin based on taught knowledge, mood, time of day, language, etc isn't very useful as a way of understanding both the general population or yourself.
@Buchiimaine@lthlnkso 6'2" and constant issues with level of cabinets, extraction hoods, seat headrests and back shape - not to mention even trying to find an office chair that lifts high enough for 'proper' sitting - then pair that with almost non-existent desks to raise high enough. π
