Tagalog is a very important language to me. I learned it when I was young, but lost it. I want people to have the resources to learn the beautiful language!!
The way that Duolingo makes new courses is by putting it into "Duolingo Incubator." The incubator is where the community can help contribute to new courses. For YEARS, Filipinos have been requesting that Duolingo at least puts the course on incubator, but there is still none.
After English and Spanish, Tagalog is the 2nd most spoken language in the US state of California. The creation of an English/Tagalog course would be beneficial for many people to get to communicate in others' native language!! @duolingo#DuolingoTagalog
The reason why so many Filipinos in different countries do not know their ancestral language is because there are not many good resources for learning Tagalog online. Let's change this and help many regain their heritage!! @duolingo#DuolingoTagalog
That's a lot of Filipinos abroad. The thing is that many of them do not get taught the language from their parents. If Duolingo makes a Tagalog course on their platform, it can help **millions** reconnect with their culture. @duolingo#DuolingoTagalog
The Philippines is greatly accelerating in economic development and has been ranked a top tourism country for a few years now. It would be a good idea to make a Tagalog course to help these tourists!! #DuolingoTagalog@duolingo
Tagalog has many loanwords from Spanish, so introducing Tagalog on Duolingo may be interesting to Spanish-learners and be a great way to introduce them to Austroasiatic languages!! @duolingo#DuolingoTagalog
A road side vendor selling what we call in the Philippines "dirty ice-cream" , also known as "sorbetes".This traditional Filipino ice cream is popular in the summer as a snack, or dessert..😊

The Tagalog language is quickly being lost among oversea Filipinos because immigrant parents don't like teaching the language. A Tagalog course on Duolingo would give many chances to learn the language since current free resources are limited. @duolingo#DuolingoTagalog
"I would use it every day. I used to have a 175 day streak before I started learning Tagalog. I left Duo for another platform that teaches Tagalog. I'd love to come back!" ~ Petitioner for #DuolingoTagalog
@duolingokurdi@duolingo That would be very bad if it's true. It would probably mean that a lot of resources will end up not being made for other courses.
