I am both shelter and shield,
Still standing, even after wrestling with the winds.
My children are the very face of the Divine,
For them, I rise; again and again.
I may break, but I never scatter,
For them, I carry every wound in silence.
No matter how unforgiving the world becomes,
I am a mother… and I endure.

Main maa haan… main khadi reh jaandi haan.”

Fun day today attending the Feminine Fellowship Outreach Society’s Father’s Day BBQ! 💖
It was wonderful to connect with so many community leaders, municipal election candidates, School Trustees, MLAs, and MPs who came out to support the event.
A heartfelt thank you to Rasinder Kaur for the kind invitation. Your dedication to bringing the community together is always appreciated.
It was also nice to spend some time with friends after a busy few months filled with other commitments. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!
🇨🇦What a Canadian scene once again.
Vancouver belongs to Canada fans right now.
Red and white dominating the city. Canada’s March to the Match weaves through streets in full force.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out encouraging me to run in politics again. I truly appreciate the confidence and support.
For now, my focus remains on my family, my career, my community work, and rebuilding the next chapter of my life. I have a lot on my plate, and sometimes the wisest decision is knowing when not to run.
So this year, I’ll gladly sit back and watch the entertainment unfold. 😊
As for the four stars instead of five? That’s intentional. None of us are perfect. We all have strengths, flaws, lessons, and room to grow; myself included.
My hope for Surrey is simple: less drama, more accountability, better public safety, responsible use of taxpayer dollars, more for our youth, seniors or other vulnerable sectors and leaders who put community before agendas.
Surrey deserves strong leadership, respectful dialogue, and decisions that genuinely serve residents.
Wishing all candidates the best. Our city deserves the right people at the table.
Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who guide, support, and love their families every day. 💙
And to the single mothers who have had to carry both roles at times. I see you too. I’ve been there, and I know the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the worries, and the strength it takes to show up every day for your children.
Today is a reminder that parenting is built on love, commitment, and showing up when it matters most.
Wishing all those who nurture, protect, teach, and support the next generation a day filled with love, appreciation, and gratitude. ❤️

Happy Father’s Day in Heaven, Dad. 💙
It’s been 15 years since you left this world, but not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. The lessons you taught, the values you lived by, the humour you brought, and the love you gave continue to guide me through life’s challenges and blessings.
As I look back on my journey, I realize how much of my strength, determination, and commitment to family came from you. I wish you were here to spend time with your grandchildren, to share in the moments we’ve celebrated, and to help us through the ones we’ve struggled with.
Though you are no longer physically with us, your presence is felt in the stories we tell, the traditions we carry forward, and the love that continues through generations.
Thank you for everything you gave us. You are deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad. ❤️🙏

As a nurse, I’ve seen first hand how important it is that our elders are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Elder abuse isn’t always physical. It can be emotional, financial, verbal, neglect, or isolation.
Today is a reminder to check in on our parents, grandparents, neighbors, and seniors in our community. A simple phone call, visit, or conversation can make a difference.
Let’s create a community where every elder feels valued, heard, safe, and respected.
💜 Speak up.
💜 Check in.
💜 Be kind.
💜 Protect our seniors.

Once Again, today,, I wear my Khalsa colors loud & bright in Chardi Kala & in remembrance of what took place 42 years ago in 1984. Many innocent pilgrims (including women, children, infants & seniors) were murdered inside the Darbar Sahib (aka Golden Temple), while they were attending an auspicious occasion in the Sikh Community.
With tanks, machine guns and other weapons, the Indian army ordered by the Indian government at that time chose to attack the from June1st-10th, leaving blood shed in what Sikhs consider one of the holiest places. There to battle Sikh Militants, they killed the innocent in large numbers, leaving some hungry to die in locked rooms. Even young children & infants or seniors not being given water for days. While loved ones were worried sick, blackouts took place.
We are not terrorists, we are innocent lives being attacked by cultural & religious suppression to not voice the truth, which matters. Many eyewitnesses to these horrific acts, including myself as a young child, watching on TV, the media & news images still sticking with me today. The tanks going in, the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) being destroyed. I was 9 years old at the time watching the scenes on news from Canada, not understanding what was going on except for the fact that my heart ❤️ felt pain.
To this day, many in the community have not healed, still many scars of lost loved ones & the trauma endured during that time. In order to heal this type of trauma, one first must not add more scars to the healing. It’s high time everyone takes accountability for their actions & involvement. To move forward as a community, it’s always important to accept what took place in the first place. Instead of adding further wounds, let’s learn to openly discuss the narratives & hear these stories. Healing starts here. Waheguru ji 🙏🌹
“The political division and constant drama have become exhausting. Regardless of where people stand, I hope we can refocus on what truly matters: serving our communities with integrity, accountability, and respect. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Community should always come before politics.” ~ DKS
A sad day for many who have followed the growth of the Surrey Police Service. I am grateful for Surrey Police Service Chief Norm Lipinski’s years of service and dedication to public safety. Wishing him all the best in his next chapter. Wish it did not end this way for a senior police official who had 47 years of policing experience. I’m sure there are many other factors at play here.
✨ JUNE 1 • RESET • REFOCUS • RESTART ✨
As I step into a new month, I leave behind doubt, hesitation, and what no longer aligns with my path.
This is my season of renewal.
I choose clarity over confusion.
I choose purpose over distraction.
I choose faith over fear.
The lessons of the past have prepared me for the opportunities ahead. What once felt like a setback was actually a redirection.
June invites me to trust my intuition, strengthen my foundations, and move forward with confidence.
I don’t need to have every answer today.
I only need the courage to take the next step.
This month I am:
✨ Releasing old emotional baggage
✨ Focusing on my highest priorities
✨ Welcoming abundance and growth
✨ Trusting divine timing
✨ Becoming the person my future is waiting for
June Affirmation:
“I am aligned with my purpose. I trust my journey. Every day I grow stronger, wiser, and more prepared for the blessings ahead.”
