Former Conservative candidate Mohsin Bhuiyan responds to allegations that he was operating an "illegal halal farm" in Bowmanville, Ontario.

After repeatedly telling the media and other audiences that he wasn't killing on the farm, he acknowledged Tuesday that he does kill birds on the farm for personal use.

Provincial and Municipal authorities have deemed his "hobby farm" not an illegal abattoir.

Researchers at Stanford University have elucidated a mechanism behind the occurrence of myocarditis following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination, particularly in young males.

Analysis of blood samples from vaccinated individuals revealed elevated levels of two cytokines—CXCL10 and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ)—in those who developed post-vaccination myocarditis.

These signaling proteins initiate a two-step inflammatory cascade: CXCL10, primarily produced by macrophages in response to the vaccine, recruits T cells that release IFN-γ, which in turn attracts aggressive immune cells (such as neutrophils and macrophages) to the heart, leading to tissue damage.

In preclinical models (including mice and human cardiac tissue), neutralizing CXCL10 and IFN-γ significantly reduced cardiac injury and immune cell infiltration without impairing the vaccine's overall immunogenicity.

Additionally, pretreatment with genistein—a soy-derived anti-inflammatory compound—attenuated the cytokine surge and mitigated heart damage in these models.

Vaccine-associated myocarditis typically presents with symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, and palpitations shortly after the second dose and remains exceedingly rare.

Importantly, SARS-CoV-2 infection itself poses a substantially higher risk of myocarditis—along with severe multisystem complications—reinforcing that the benefits of mRNA vaccination far exceed the risks.

Statistics report 1 case of myocarditis in 9,000–25,000 doses for the highest-risk groups, adolescent and young adult males, particularly after the second dose. Rates were much lower in females, older adults, and after first or booster doses. For context, myocarditis risk from actual COVID-19 infection was substantially higher—often 10 times or more in comparable age groups.

The decisions made by the feds and the province directly affect his constituents... councils reach out to the federal and provincial governments all the time to ask them to change laws, add laws, etc., why is this any different?

Mayor Roy, asking tough questions of a public official, even a female one — is **not** "targeted harassment." It's called accountability.

If a female councillor can't handle scrutiny for casually throwing around "racist" labels, maybe public office isn't for her. Women in leadership don't need a special shield based on gender — that just infantilizes them.

This is the same tired playbook from Pickering: question policy, get called a racist, homophobe transphobe, bigot - whatever the flavour of the month.

Lawyers funded by the Justice Centre have sent a legal warning letter to the Town of Whitby, advising Council that its policy prohibiting members of the public from recording council and committee meetings violates the Charter and must be repealed.

The letter was sent on behalf of Jeanette Miller, a retired insurance broker, Durham Region resident, and mother of two adult daughters, after she was prevented from recording her own public delegation at a Whitby Sustainability Committee (WSC) meeting on June 4, 2025.

Constitutional lawyer Darren Leung said, “Recording and sharing public meetings is a form of expression protected by section 2(b) of the Charter. While there are limited circumstances where governments may restrict recording, an open meeting of town council is not one of them.”
