@sophiaphotos The most fascinating one of all for me is salt..how it shaped so many aspects of our collective history and food processing/preserving…reading this atm and highly recommend it
@GrecianGirly@_AcrossTheAges Thank you! Yes, I do! ☺️But out here, you never know who knows what so your approach would always be better! And I would spot, find and appreciate pomegranate both as a fruit and a historical/ cultural symbol whenever I get a chance 😅
@GrecianGirly@_AcrossTheAges Thank you very much for the lengthy explanation! Being originally from Asia Minor, looks like pomegranate tradition carried on to this date- this is what my mother made for me couple of years ago :)
What if I told you there was a single intervention we could deliver in our cities that would cool them during heatwaves, reduce flooding, scrub pollutants from the air, boost biodiversity, improve public health, and even reduce crime? You wouldn't believe me. But it's true.
@jillian_kern Sautéing them in evoo after grading, adding finely chopped walnuts then generously drizzling them with mashed garlic/yogurt dressing, just enough to look covered- makes a great cold appetizer/even dip!
@EmilyRNunn @LByock What worked for me after trying multiple things is that picking up the fresh looking and wet ones from the store, wrapping in paper towel and leave them in the bag, then put the bag in a plastic container in the fridge- this kept them fresh over 3 weeks
@sophiaphotos Yes! Where I grew up, they use it as food preserving agent, plus a texture changer- they make crispy pumpkin preserve with it🤤but I am still shocked that lime was the other lime lol
