@benjaminwhodge I agree with this. This trade was certainly “on brand” for the Rams but also for the Browns, who have seemingly been in a perpetual rebuild for what seems like forever.
The Browns have drafted very well the past few years
For their #1 LB, they picked a guy who started only two games last season and is attempting to come back from his 2nd torn ACL
What’s more crazy, I agree with them. KVA will be a monster this season if he can come back healthy.
@nfldraftfanatc IMO, it’s easier to see identity if an NFL LB from another team will fit your team and scheme than projecting college LBs where the best normally excel as attacking downhill players who make splash plays at or near the line of scrimmage. Conversely, NFL LBs need to cover ground
6 of the 12 signed with different teams in free agency, which is the most efficient way of acquiring a difference making Linebacker.
The cap/$$ cost is much less than premium positions
After watching all 449 snaps from Dylan Stewart in 2025, here are my thoughts:
✅ Still my #1 player in the class
✅ Bend off the edge is something that is coveted from a 6’5” 250 pound pass rusher
✅ Played the final 4 games with a “severe back injury” and his A&M tape was still impressive (7 pressures, 1 sack, 1 FF)
✅ Elite first step
✅ Run defense was very impressive
❌ Left more than a few TFLs on the field with missed tackles due to not breaking down once in the backfield
❌ Took plays off at times, not common but enough to notice
❌ Bull rush worked but does need to add strength for him to consistently win at the next level with it
