Happy December to everyone, but especially those of us who spent the last month grinding for NaNoWriMo. I may not have won this year, but writing an hour each night after the toddler went to bed and drafting ~22,000 words still feels awesome. Now for some self-care! #AmWriting
The news is out!! I'm so excited to work with the fab. @JessVerdi to work on my book! I have so many ppl to thank! While I type the rest of this thread, pls enjoy this video that took me hours to make!
My publishing pursuits have clambered into the figurative backseat while I focus on my 2nd master’s degree, so this caught me my surprise: my steampunk mermaid story 🐬 was published in our school magazine! Click here to check it out.

@DiannaLGunn@NaNoWriMo Fair point. I may be an odd duck, though, because I treat NaNo as one of my winter holidays. October: the month of Halloween. December: Yule and Christmas decorations all month. And between them, the month of “yay I get to prioritize writing every day!” (My husband is not a fan).
My final word count for #NaNoWriMo is just over 35,000. I didn’t hit 50,000 this year, but I’m proud of what I accomplished while on maternity leave caring for my infant muse. One day I only managed 160 words, but I did write every single day. 😁

Today this fierce little girl is 1 month old, and over the weekend I submitted my first story to a magazine in over a year. I think it’s going to be a good week!
@avramargariti Thank you! I know I haven’t been very active lately between my library degree and the baby, but I love seeing all of your publication posts. The world needs all of your amazing writing. ❤️
@timstubinski This will give away my age, but in middle school my AIM profile animation reflected a similar sentiment. It was a butterfly that flew away before the second D of ADD.
Happy 1st day of @NaNoWriMo! 🎉I’m not sure how much writing I’ll accomplish during maternity leave, but I’m excited to dive in.
