I’m speaking from the pain and anguish that the families of the kidnapped victims must be experiencing. I’m also speaking as someone who has lost people close to him.
So I have to ask: if that kidnapped man who was later killed had been Seyi Tinubu or one of the President’s immediate family members, would the response have been the same? Would the situation have dragged on in the same way?
What disappoints me is seeing some people blindly defend the Federal Government’s handling of this insecurity crisis instead of demanding better.
Whether you view it as politics or not, the reality is that when those in power have a strong enough incentive, extraordinary efforts are often made. Many Nigerians believe that the same level of urgency and determination should be applied to rescuing kidnapped children and teachers, regardless of who they are.
