I did an early projection of the Detroit Lions 53-man roster ahead of training camp. This is the defensive side of the ball. Probably has a couple of inclusions/exclusions that won't match what others will project when they get around to it...

Terrion Arnold's arrest has big implications for his financial future.
There's a small part of every NFL contract that says if you violate the NFL's code of conduct policy you can lose your right to the guarantees on your contract.
It doesn't matter if you're convicted or not you can still violate the policy.
This allows the lions to void his future guarantees and even ask for previous guarantees back that they've given him, like signing bonus.
Painful.

Happy Bobby Bonilla Deferral Day: Bonilla is set to collect another $1.193 million from the New York Mets today, as he will each July 1st through the year 2035.
Today's Daily DLP covers why the Lions acted so swiftly with Terrion Arnold, and a question Lomas Brown asked me on-air last night spawns some deeper thoughts

Terrion Arnold was the Lions’ first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which was held in Detroit.
With today’s move, he becomes the first player selected in the first round from that draft to be released.
