First statement since the election, here we go.

Lots of people have been asking me how I feel. Am I disappointed? Angry? Do I wish we did things different?

First off, I’m doing great. The truth is, I have zero room for any emotion right now other than gratitude.

I’m so fucking proud of the race we ran, of my team, our volunteers, those who supported from afar, all of it. I couldn’t have asked for a better team, or a more enthusiastic group of supporters who were willing to fight with me tooth and nail.

We challenged an incumbent, which is already incredibly difficult. But we were also outspent nearly 10 to 1, with $10 million being poured into defeating us. On paper, we had no right to even come close in this race.

But we won the majority of the 29 counties in the district, ending only about 400 votes away from victory.
That is insane.

I feel like this race will be studied for a like time by political junkies as a case study on the changing political climate, and the importance of an energized grassroots going toe to toe with the establishment machine and holding their own.

Long story short, it feels like the end of Rocky. We may not have won, but we went all 12 rounds in a fight that nobody expected to even be close, and we staggered the current champ. We made history.

I will be doing a video on this soon, but just wanted to put this out there on Twitter since this was ground zero for a lot of the shenanigans 😂
