Let’s clear something up that I’m hearing a lot of you mopes say about this shooting.
“She brandished a gun when she got out the car. That means she’s the aggressor!”
All the way wrong.
Legally and tactically.
But as far as legally?
There is NO Florida statute that says you can’t pull a gun during a verbal altercation.
None. Zero.
It doesn’t exist.
People keep repeating that line like it’s law. It’s not.
Here’s the actual statutes (776.012, 776.041, 790.10) if you’d like to go look for yourself and see THE FACTS.
These statutes aren’t about words.
They’re about REASONABLENESS.
They’re about IMMINENT THREAT.
So if that “verbal altercation” comes with a credible threat of violence…
Somebody closing the distance on you aggressively or puts you in reasonable fear of loss of life OR BODILY HARM…
That’s not just talking anymore.
That’s the law recognizing what your gut already told you.
I built the Civics Operating System for people to know this kinda stuff and not look like morons as some are.
The link is below in the thread.
