Is Jason from the 2009 movie Jason? Yes right? That movie’s not perfect but it’s generally accepted as a valid interpretation. But it’s not the same Jason from previous movies.

Jason behaves like Jason in both incarnations as they are fundamentally the same character.

The current design is just a streamlined version of the 2009 look.
It’s not my favorite but I’m not going to lose sleep over it
