@andrewpprice BTW, if anyone wants to put their money where their mouth is and actually support traditional animation, the brilliant and talented Tina Nawrocki is currently raising money on Kickstarter to fund a short film done entirely by hand.

@UpToNoGoose@skulltyps It wasn't a caricature.
If you think "racist" is a fair appraisal of what that artist was trying to do, then I won't argue with you about it, but I'm pretty sure you know it wasn't.
@UpToNoGoose@skulltyps I didn't think it did, and it wasn't a "caricature".
It was (presumably) the artist's attempt at a representational, impressionistic rendering. There was nothing wrong with it. The OP should have just said "making a contemporary rendering of turn of the century art" or something
@UpToNoGoose@skulltyps You have to draw her skin lighter and her hair less kinky for it to not be racist?
That kind of sounds racist.
It's obvious that the original artist wasn't being malicious, so why make it an issue?
@ReaderJustus That's not even what he said. He said they address what the religious response would be to alien disclosure in the movie.
Don't take the bait.
