🇺🇸 US Army Sergeant First Class Mark Wayne Jackson, a Green Beret assigned to the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), was killed in action on October 2, 2002, in Zamboanga, Philippines, while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom 🕊️

A terrorist on a motorcycle detonated a powerful nail-laden improvised explosive device at an open-air market/restaurant just outside the gate of Camp Enrile Malagutay. The blast killed SFC Jackson and one other US service member, and wounded several others. He was 40 years old.

Operation Enduring Freedom – Philippines was part of Operation Enduring Freedom and the global war on terror. The Operation targeted the various Jihadist terror groups operating in the country. By 2009, about 600 US military personnel were advising and assisting the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

🚨 Chicago Police Officer MURDERED in a hospital by career criminal

A 26-year-old suspect, already out on pretrial release for armed robbery, allegedly shot and killed Officer John Bartholomew inside a hospital Saturday.

He was under arrest for robbing a store, taken to the hospital for observation, then pulled a hidden gun from under his blanket and opened fire. Critically wounded a second officer before jumping out a window and hiding under a porch.

Now facing more than 20 felonies.

This is what happens when criminals are repeatedly released back onto the streets.

A good cop is dead because Chicago’s soft-on-crime policies failed, again.

🇺🇸 Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator Collin Thomas led his team on a mission when they came under fire from the Taliban hiding in a tree line.

Thomas left his covered position and led his team to assault the enemy. He located an enemy fighter in a trench and charged the enemy before he could bring his weapon to bear on Thomas's team. Thomas moved through machine gun fire and killed the enemy but was mortally wounded in the process. His actions saved the rest of his team from imminent danger and enabled them to complete the mission.

For his heroism and sacrifice, Thomas was posthumously awarded the Silver Star. Thomas served 9 combat deployments with the SEALs, also earning 3 Bronze Stars with "V", and a Purple Heart.
