🚨 RECRUIT TIP 🚨
Playing a summer travel circuit makes zero-point-zero sense for a D2/D3 recruit. Identify what schools have genuine interest & go to their camps. 5-6 camps at those programs is 50 million times more valuable than the alternative. @FlatgroundApp@FlatgroundBats
The silly, bush, fake energy …songs, chants, banging, yelling at opposing pitcher (players). Sarcasm. Etc. is such a tired act. How about the novel idea of genuinely pulling for your teammates with authentic enthusiasm and encouragement. That is what helps win games. Real opponents are not shaken with the antics of opposing dugouts.
@Ohiohshoops Making this change for D1 schools and then big schools complaining about lack of sectionals or districts is rich to me. 5 maybe 6 divisions with equal amount of teams in each would be a good compromise.
@Ohiohshoops Certainly. IMO in NW Ohio the bigger reason for lopsided games early is due to the district switching to pods. Helps to eliminate a “weak district” putting a team in regionals. Every team Miller City Girls beat to get to state in 2004 DIV are now D7 in 2026.

Dawn Staley shares a coaching and parenting truth that most people get wrong.
"I'm very different than your parents because your parents don't want you to fail, and they don't want you to be uncomfortable."
You can't steal the struggle for others.
"They do everything in their power to make sure you don't feel the pain that they felt growing up. And it's probably the biggest mistake because they're gonna fail."
Love isn't protecting someone from struggle - it's preparing them for it.
"I tell them, 'I love you enough to allow you to fail.' I do."
"I love you enough to allow you to hurt. I love you enough for you to have a bad game or bad month or even a bad season."
You can't grow without failures, mistakes, and setbacks. That's where true growth happens.
"And that's not just basketball, that's just anything. You're gonna have bad days that you're gonna have to just fight."
The greatest gift you can give someone isn't comfort. It's the ability to handle discomfort.
Optimize for resilience, not comfort. That's what prepares them for anything.
