At @DutchBlockWeek, our Director of Global Affairs @jg13nn joined a panel on national blockchain adoption with Juan Carlos Reyes (President, El Salvador's National Digital Assets Commission) and Michal Ptáčník (legal counsel, Liberland).

The conversation ran deep, into understanding El Salvador's positioning and mindset behind making #Bitcoin legal tender to how a micronation runs governance on-chain.

Having a vantage point from BGA programmes and engagements with global governments and UN agencies on #blockchain impact, Glenn discussed on the realities of the industry:

➡️ A wallet given to citizens is not inclusion; it's access, but that's a major start where El Salvador did well. The unbanked lack trust, identity, and infrastructure, not an app.
➡️ Differentiating real national blockchain adoption from a simple press release boils down to whether such adoption survives a change of government regime, if there is infrastructure underneath, and who actually benefits.

It was an open and honest conversation about where the reality actually stands and the direct perspectives from a country.

I'm still thinking about @DutchBlockWeek because SO much happened that I don't even know how to fit it into one post, so I'll share it piece by piece. And the VIP Opening Night feels like the right place to start.

First, I've finally realised I really LOVE smaller events. Put around 100 founders and C-level people in one cosy bar, and everything feels different. You actually get to know people instead of rushing from one introduction to another, and somehow it never feels overwhelming.

There was a jewellery giveaway, an open bar, and an atmosphere that made it easy to enjoy every conversation and every person.

Huge thank you to Chris and the entire DBW team for putting together such a thoughtful start to the week. I'm really grateful I got to be there.

Last week, the MN Fund team attended @DutchBlockWeek again.

It's exciting to see how fast the industry is growing. Over the years, the ecosystem has matured rapidly, with institutional parties taking the lead. It reaffirms that the market is slowly merging with TradFi.

What stood out this year: fewer conversations about hype, more about infrastructure. Custody, compliance, tokenization, on-chain settlement. The questions have shifted from "why crypto" to "how do we integrate it."

For us, it's a validation of the approach we've taken from the start: institutional-grade infrastructure, systematic execution, and a strategy built for the long term.

Looking forward to next year.
