If you missed out on getting the great Dutch Type book from @JanMiddendorp now is a good time to grab a copy from @slanted_blog

Sending my Dutch Type reprint to North America has become very expensive. Fortunately, Oak Knoll Books has a supply, now selling it at a very reasonable price. Today and tomorrow! https://t.co/zb4zkTihqq
Now online: my new Eye Blog post. A review of a unique book(let) about German-Dutch lettering artist/illustrator Helmut Salden, and his manually executed designs & sketches. Full-size!

Ten years ago today, Dutch lettering artist and designer Boudewijn Ietswaart passed away. His daughter Anna and I have chosen this day to present the Ietswaart Project – a book featuring his amazing cover designs and sketches. Read more, sign up: https://t.co/wY5ycI7tBv
@espiekermann “Less is les” — that would be a nice wordplay for bilingual Dutch speakers. With a bit of liberty you could translate that as “Less is a lesson.”
My latest contributions to Fonts in Use. It’s all (forgotten?) music & design from the early 1970s!

@hhpapazian @Fustandfriends Thanks, Hrant. When you go to that page and click the link to the "background story”, you'll get more information about our (individual) activities and my motives to slowly step back. I can also forward you last Friday's newsletter.
Bad news, good news! Fust&Friends will leave the platform. Read why! We also want to share our entire collection at a ridiculous price, to make our typefaces accessible for those who like the fonts, but had no client to finance them — we can help. https://t.co/OYv7FnXGAT
Now online in English: my text for a booklet on Hans Bockting in the acclaimed Roots series by [Z]OO Productions. Bockting was co-owner of the award-winning studio UNA (Amsterdam), and inventive designer at Traffic Design in the mid-1970s. https://t.co/u2NF8szWso
I am rereading this! Written by novelist Hunter Davies, it is probably the most relaxed and frankest Beatles book ever; it’s the only authorized Beatles biography. Published in 1968, I’m pretty sure I bought this hardcover 1st ed. 2 years later, at 14. Design by Alan Aldridge.
@johndberry I think it must have begun with the invention of the first tools. They allowed “us” to kill stronger animals and eventually rule over them from built abodes. And paint them on walls to visualize that power (and make religion out of that).
Fust&Friends, information page. Here's screenshot, as only few of you will have seen it. I hope it made you grin.
My favorite type writing: stuff that makes you grin. Getting rare. Self-praise promo, most of it. Oh, and Fust may close down later this year … with a final promo.
Some work can/should just go on. As a prelude to the jubilee Eye #100 – my piece on dynamic, perfectionist São Paulo designer Tereza Bettinardi. I love her lively yet meticulous work. https://t.co/1yF6wb4ISy
@yanone The super-rich with power, and hunger for more, know which system they want to live in. A permanent crisis, in which opportunities to squeeze out the poorer offer themselves daily. And Trump knows how to keep them close — play a dooH niboR: steal from the poor, give to the rich.
@espiekermann Unwahrscheinlich, wa? Ich: Gestern abend angefragt, heute gegen Mittag überwiesen. Berliner Bürokratie macht mich oft böse, aber diesmal funktioniert alles beispielhaft. #coronaberlin
