Happy Belated Birthday Madlib
What's my favorite Madlib beat(s) besides "Microphone Mathematics"?
Zion I ft. Planet Asia - "Critical" (Madlib Remix)
Dudley Perkins - "Flowers"
Shades of Blue, Yesterdays New Quintet... it's really endless.... 💐
this whole distrokid fiasco should show people how brittle and fickle streaming services are.
like most things in modernity, they are stripping away the humanity of music discovery. automation and algorithms are replacing word of mouth and genuine music conversation. it's sad
I remember leaving the record store after coping the Q-Tip - "The Renaissance" CD, and driving 40 miles with "We Fight/We Love" on repeat windows down, fresh fall breeze on the way to Vote for Obama.
The contrast of hope/purpose during a recession vs present doom is staggering
Two songs I would send in a capsule into space to signify the spirit of hiphop are "Buddah Blessed It" by Supernatural & "Metrotheme" by All City.
thankful I was exposed to so much dopeness before I was old enough to Drive.
Also will never regret opening Junk Planet like this.

Underground hiphop has introduced me to people I would’ve never met otherwise.
Different countries, different lives, same love for a dusty sample and some honest bars 👊
