The recent events at OpenAI are likely going to lead to considerable, unpredictable instability.

This highlights the fact that we can’t really trust the companies to self-regulate AI where even their own internal governance can be deeply conflicted.

Please don't gut the EU AI Act; we need it now more than ever.

Yes, AI has a carbon footprint that we need to be mindful of.

But we need to keep some perspective here. One LLM equals carbon footprint of 2 cars. The world makes 100 million cars per year. Suppose we train 10,000 LLMs/year.

Then AI is not even 0.02% of the car industry.
