@aran_mcmahon 1) Yes I am okay with answering those questions.
2) I can think of 100 policy areas where data on those questions is relevant.
3) You give Meta and Google that information and far more invasive information every day.
@aran_mcmahon@nationalpost Cute remarks aren’t civic dialogue.
I genuinely want to know your objection. Especially in a context where we’re both coughing up unlimited personal information right now to Elon Musk to do literally anything he wants with.
@nationalpost Every day people give up every possible piece of personal information to Google, X, Meta, with zero potential for transparency or accountability.
Then freak out when public officials ask them if they ever did French immersion.
@CTVVancouver Last year in Ottawa the Queers for Palestine were permitted by the parade organizers to cancel the parade. The organizers 100% explicitly agreed to let them shut down the parade as soon as it started.
I want $0 going to Ottawa's pride organizers this summer.
$0.
@alaska_godosiyo You know that all your actual legitimate grievances have already been addressed when your current complaints are about.... hair styles.
@proud_native_am You misunderstand a basic fact about human nature.
When the weak are weak, they subscribe to the morality of the weak.
When the weak become strong, they subscribe to the morality of the strong.
@nationalpost 1) There's proof of the Holocaust.
2) Jews aren't shaking down taxpayers for billions every year on that basis.
3) Holocaust denial laws are still a bad idea.
4) Leave it to Jews to turn everybody's else's suffering into a footnote to their own victimhood saga.
@INoScared@hollyanndoan@SenateCA@pierremmoreau@Dawn_Moncton@SenatorWanda@SeanFraserMP I think the root causes are:
A dysfunctional media ecosystem that pollutes every topic worth discussing because it’s profitable to do so.
An education system totally unmoored from societal needs.
The West’s obsession with self-flagellation. A slave morality on steroids.
@muhummzy@AndrewLawton 1) There’s evidence for the holocaust.
2) Criminalization of holocaust denial is still stupid.
3) Holocaust survivors aren’t shaking down taxpayers for billions of dollars every year on the basis of disputed facts and narratives.
@INoScared@hollyanndoan@SenateCA@pierremmoreau@Dawn_Moncton@SenatorWanda@SeanFraserMP Term limit for senators would be an interesting idea.
But electoral history shows that the original myths and hopes about elections as accountability mechanisms needs updating.
More to the point, we need to address the root causes of these reactionary, oppressive amendments.
