Due to significant snow accumulation and safety concerns, students will not report to their school building on 1/7/25. Instead, an AMI day will be used, and learning will continue at home.
Prime Time will also be closed tomorrow to allow BSSD staff teams the necessary time to clear parking lots and sidewalks. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
And the 1st place award for our 2024 ugly Christmas sweater goes to... Kayla Littrell! 🏆🎄✨ When asked who she'd like to thank for this incredible achievement, Littrell said, 'I'd like to thank TJ Maxx!' Congratulations, Ms. Littrell!
Congrats to Brendon Riggs and Tyler Dykes! Each submitted applications for grants to enhance their classrooms and support learning. Hollis + Miller supplied the funds ($4500) for the grant awarded to Mr. Riggs. The Duvall family supported the grant ($1600) given to Mr. Dykes.
Our staff has been having a jolly time with our Countdown to Christmas spirit month! Today's theme was 'Gator Family Photos,' and our team had a merry time posing with their pod teammates, capturing that classic JCPenney family photo vibe.
This week we honored 22 exceptional staff members at our annual Beyond Distinction event. 🏆
The recognition celebrates classified who go above and beyond for our students, staff, schools, and community. Congratulations to these very deserving recipients!💙

From snacks, word searches, and puzzles, to a dance floor and DJ, to ping pong, bags, air hockey, and Jenga, our students enjoyed the Winter Mixer! Thank you PTSA!
Giving Gators teamed up with The Cheetah Leaders of Chapel Lakes Elementary to make PB&J sandwiches. Students and sponsors made nearly 700 sandwiches in an hour through the Just a Sandwich organization. Sandwiches were then distributed to members of KC's unhoused community.
