We rebuilt the Auggie CLI harness from the ground up and cut cost per task by 53% at the same quality.
Forked Pi (@pidotdev), a minimal open-source coding harness by @badlogicgames, and wired our context engine in as an extension.
The big lever: fewer tools. One bash + 3 file tools beats a wide, specialized toolset: less schema tax on every call, less orchestration overhead per turn.
Same pass rate on SWE-bench Pro. $1.27/task vs. Claude Code's $2.70.
How we got there 🧵👇
We ran DeepSeek V4 Flash through 4 more agent harnesses (Hermes Agent, Pi Agent, Prime Agent, Deep Agents) on 30 challenging agentic tasks.
Pi Agent was the cheapest harness and passed the most tasks 🧵🧵
Bringing Grok Build’s native Rust TUI to Pi users.
Grok Build has a really strong terminal experience. I built a headless adapter so Pi users can keep their existing harness core unchanged while using Grok Pager’s fullscreen, mouse-interactive TUI — including Markdown, tool cards, diffs, scrollback and more.
