Upon landing in Rome, had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Meloni over dinner followed by a visit to the iconic Colosseum. We exchanged perspectives on a wide range of subjects. Looking forward to our talks today, where we will continue the conversation on how to boost the India-Italy friendship.
@GiorgiaMeloni
Met His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima at the Royal Palace. It was wonderful exchanging perspectives on boosting India-Netherlands friendship across key sectors like technology, innovation, sustainable growth, commerce and water resources. India and the Netherlands are connected by shared interests and a shared belief in building a future-ready planet.

500+ days in jail.
Bail denied. Again.
Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu, a spiritual leader and an ISKCON monk, continues to languish behind bars in Bangladesh while the world watches.
When even his lawyers are intimidated, threatened and silenced in court corridors, what justice are we even talking about?
Is advocating for the rights of the Minority Hindu community a crime? When a saffron-clad soul is treated like a criminal for raising his voice, the world CANNOT remain silent.
I appeal to the Government of Bangladesh to give medical aid and, more importantly, access to fair justice to Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu immediately. May he be granted bail at the earliest.
And to all the pseudo-secularists and Selective Human rights Activists around the World who flood timelines overnight, wave watermelons and trend hashtags on cue, your silence can be still heard. Apparently, your humanity has a filter.

Joi Maa Kali!
Joi Maa Durga!
In Kolkata this evening, I prayed at the Thanthania Kalibari.
This ancient Temple has a very close connection with Bengali culture and Kolkata in particular. It also has a very close association with Sri Ramakrishna, who used to pray there very often.
I prayed for the prosperity, good health and well-being of the people of India.
Spoke with my dear friend, President Emmanuel Macron, on the situation in West Asia and the urgent need for de-escalation, as well as a return to dialogue and diplomacy.
We look forward to continuing our close coordination to advance peace and stability in the region and beyond.
@EmmanuelMacron
After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
Real friendship in diplomacy is truthful, respectful, and deals with dignity.
The Opposition Party in India is circulating recent remarks made by the Trump Administration stating the U.S. government has given PM @narendramodi “permission” to resume buying oil from Russia. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent labeled India "very good actors" commending India's compliance with the U.S. request to stop purchasing Russian oil and now “meriting” a temporary 30-day waiver to India to resume purchase of Russian oil, specifically for “stranded shipments to ease global supply pressures.”
Let’s be clear. The talking point last month stating India conceded to the U.S. to stop buying Russian oil in the recent U.S.-India trade deal was just as false then as it is today. And the “very good actors” remark is condescending to our strongest democratic ally. Like any sovereign country and democratic republic, India can do business with whomever they want and PM Modi doesn’t need permission from anyone to do what’s best for his country and the Indian people.
Here’s the truth. This statement by the Trump Administration is an attempt to “save face” following the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling eliminating the Trump Administration’s authority to tariff the world. The ruling clarified the President’s and Administration’s overreach, unshackled foreign allies from in place tariff deals, and freed foreign countries to move confidently resuming alternative trade deals.
On a stronger note. From the punitive tariffs, to claims of settling a war between India and Pakistan, to now this rather forward claim of “dictating to PM Modi how he can or can not conduct trade with other allies,” further illustrates the Administration’s continued misguided language towards India and a failure to understand PM Modi’s footing as the most sought after global trade partner in geopolitics.
The Trump Administration may refuse to genuinely repair its relationship with India now and publicly, but the Democrats winning the November midterms will undoubtedly put that pride in check. As for the Opposition Party in India, to use the Trump Administration’s language, they are just “bad” actors and @RahulGandhi gets the Oscar as India’s worst. PM Modi has written an entire “new script” for India and it is winning for the India people.
This is shameful and unprecedented. Everyone who believes in democracy and the empowerment of tribal communities is disheartened.
The pain and anguish expressed by Rashtrapati Ji, who herself hails from a tribal community, has caused immense sadness in the minds of the people of India.
The TMC Government of West Bengal has truly crossed all limits. Their administration is responsible for this insult to the President.
It is equally unfortunate that a subject as important as Santal culture is treated so casually by the West Bengal Government.
The office of the President is above politics and the sanctity of this office should always be respected. One hopes better sense prevails among the West Bengal Government and TMC.
To those who may not have secured the desired outcome in the Civil Services Examination, I understand that such moments can be difficult. However, this is only one step in a larger journey. Many opportunities lie ahead, both in future examinations and in the many avenues through which you can contribute to our nation. My best wishes for the road ahead.
Canada and India are both growing economies with big ambitions in energy, technology, and AI.
