@Variety I tried it a few times. It's very difficult to pull off a film with no dialogue while keeping it interesting and having it make sense. That's why there's a lot of "talky" movies and very few movies with no dialogue at all. I don't think I can name even 10 movies without dialogue.

@ATRightMovies I saw both Star Wars in 1977 and Return of the Jedi in 1983 in the theater, but somehow missed Empire in 1981. Must've been a money/transportation thing. Finally caught Empire on VHS in 1984. One of the earliest movies I rented. Don't remember being bothered by the big "spoiler".

@alisonmartino "Hollywood" was much more interesting back then. I liked it better when the curtain was closed on it and you had to make an effort to look behind the scenes. Unfortunately, there is no "mystique" about the movies anymore. I guess you can say that about everything these days.

@Super70sSports I had that and the camper. Big Jim's backpack had a string you can pull and it would "talk". I remember some of the phrases. "Let's make camp here!", "Roll out that sleeping bag."
