Brief history and future of Colonialism in Kurdistan by Prof. of Sociology Ahmad Mohammadpour:
The colonization of Greater Kurdistan is among the last and longest colonial projects of modern history.
For over a century, Kurdish land and life have been subjected to overlapping racio-linguistic regimes of imperial domination across the Middle East. Arab “Muslim brothers” in Iraq perpetrated the genocide of 182,000 Kurds in Bashur during the Anfal campaign, gassing Halabja and killing 5,000 innocent Kurds just two episodes in a broader machinery of extermination since the imperialist invention of the Iraqi state.
There, Arab Syrian Muslim “brothers” denied for decades the Kurds of schooling, birth registration, property ownership, and even the right to exist. And now, yesterday’s Wanted jihadis and today’s West-approved leader, Al-Jolani, is aboard!
Turkish “Muslim brothers”, who branded 25 million Kurds as “Mountain Turks,” banning the Kurdish language, calling Kurds “tailed beasts,” indulging anti-imperialism and pro-Palestine theater while serving as NATO’s second-largest army, suppressing Kurds and supporting building colonial settlements in the north of Syria, calling Kurds refugees and immigrants on their own land.
And then the Aryan “master race”, a Perso-Shiʿa empire playing multiple games. They loudly fight imperialism abroad but perfecting the art of annihilation of non-Persians at home.
Ah yes. This is the cradle of civilization. So beautiful. So civilized.
We, Kurds, are not taking anyone’s land; we are removing occupiers, reclaiming what is ours. Every inch of our homeland will be liberated from settlers and colonial rule. That day might come late, but it will for sure. In the aftermath of the collapse of Perso-Shia colonialism in Iran, Kurds will not entrust their future to the ballot.
Iran will never become a democratic, secular, or progressive system, just like the Turkish and Arab regimes of suppression. It might at best transition to yet another form of ethnoracial mode of governance. The dominant ethnie will never recognize or even pronounce the right of self-determination for Kurds and other suppressed minoritized nations.
Occupiers do not depart by goodwill. They are made to leave, as the history of colonialism has showcased, and this will also be true in the case of Iranian imperialism. This forged failed imaginary will be over one way or another.

Siz Türkiye, Irak ve Suriye’nin hassasiyetlerinden söz ediyorsunuz.

Peki Kürd milletinin hassasiyetlerinden neden hiç söz etmiyorsunuz?

Yüz yılı aşkın süredir dört devlet arasında parçalanmış, dili yasaklanmış, kimliği inkâr edilmiş, yüzbinlerce evladı şehit düşmüş milyonlarcası sürgüne gönderilmiş bir milletin hassasiyetleri sizin diplomatik ajandanızda neden yer almıyor?

Türkiye’nin hassasiyeti var.

Irak’ın hassasiyeti var.

Suriye’nin hassasiyeti var.

Peki atmış milyonu aşkın Kürd milletinin hiçbir hassasiyeti yok mu?

Anlaşılan Washington’da Trumpla yaptığınız eski emlakçı mantığınız yine devreye girmiş.

Haritaya bakılıyor, sınırlar çiziliyor, nüfus hesaplanıyor ve bölgenin kadim halkları sanki tapu kayıtlarındaki parseller gibi değerlendiriliyor.

Ancak unutulan bir gerçek var:

Kürdistan bir arsa değildir, sayın Barak.

Kürd milleti de satarak kar edebileceğiniz bir gayrimenkul hiç değildir.

Siz üç devletin daha güçlü olmasını istediğinizi söylüyorsunuz.

Kürdler de yüz yıldır aynı cümleyi dinliyor.

Osmanlı giderkende İngilizler ve Fransızlar aynısını söylediler.

Lozan’da söylediler.

Bağdat’ta söylediler.

Şam’da söylediler.

Ankara’da söylediler.

Sonuç ne oldu?

Devletler büyüdü.

Ordular büyüdü.

İstihbarat teşkilatları büyüdü.

Ama Kürdlerin hakları sürekli yok sayıldı ertelendi ve küçüldü. Bununla istikrar ve barış mı elde edildi.

Bugün yine “istikrar” adı altında Kürdlere kimi liderler üzerinden yeniden entegrasyon, yeniden teslimiyet ve yeniden statüsüzlük öneriliyorsa bilinmelidir ki bu reçete çok eskimiştir çok.

Washington’da dikilen bu elbise Kürd milletine dar gelir. Bu emlak geliştirme projenizi Kürd milleti yırtıp çöp kutusuna attı bile.

Çünkü biz Kürdler artık başkalarının hassasiyetlerini dinlemekten yorulduk.

Bir kez de dünya, Kürd milletinin hassasiyetlerini dinlemeyi öğrensin. Gerçek istikrar; Kürdleri yok sayarak değil, Kürd milletinin kolektif varlığını, kimliğini, dilini ve birleşik bağımsız siyasal iradesini tanıyarak sağlanabilir.

Aksi halde adına ister entegrasyon deyin, ister istikrar deyin, ister yeni bölgesel vizyon deyin;

Kürd halkı bun eski planların yeni ambalajı olarak sunduğunuz projenizi suratınıza çarpmaya devam edecektir.

Numbers are coming together

The videos released by the Iranian people after domestic internet was connected are troubling. The intensity of the footage is informative. We see four protesters removing a shot victim at every corner of streets we can see. Ratio is 4 to one. There were about 400k demonstrating over two to three days. The projection of 50 k dead is modest.

Such material will be submitted by families and NGOs to the special tribunal to be formed. Iran will need thousands of defense lawyers. The information to be made available will resemble to Nuremberg and the Hague.
