On Thursday, May 21, 2026, at about 4:15 pm, the Dallas Police Department received a call from in the 3900 block of Northbound Julius Schepps Freeway reporting a male subject walking into traffic. A pilot from the Drone First Responder program utilized an Unmanned Aerial System to respond to the call. The pilot was able to locate the man walking on the freeway, maintain a view of the suspect, and direct uniformed elements to his location. Uniformed elements quickly located the man and successfully/safely removed him from the freeway before any harm came to him.
This is just the first of many positive results the Drone First Responder program is yielding.
Stay tuned for many more!!

Memphis rapper Lontrell Williams Jr., also known as Pooh Shiesty, was denied bond Wednesday in a case stemming from the alleged Dallas robbery of fellow rapper Gucci Mane.
Williams was already detained before the hearing and will stay in detention.
Nine people, including Williams and Memphis rapper Big30 — whose real name is Rodney Wright — were charged with allegedly kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, at gunpoint in a Dallas music studio in January, according to a federal complaint unsealed last week.

Nine people, including popular rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30, were charged with allegedly kidnapping and robbing people at gunpoint in a Dallas music studio, according to a federal complaint unsealed Thursday.
Lontrell Williams, or Pooh Shiesty, arranged a business meeting in Dallas with three "music industry professionals" to discuss the terms of his recording contract on Jan. 10, according to a federal criminal complaint.
Once there, Williams pulled out an AK-style weapon and forced one of the victims to sign a release from his recording contract at gunpoint while the other men robbed victims of Rolex watches, jewelry and cash, court documents allege.

Last night, no candidate secured a majority in #TX33, so this race continues. I’m grateful to every voter, volunteer, and supporter who showed up and put in the work.
Some people thought this race would be decided outright last night. Instead, we forced a runoff with a candidate with statewide name recognition and a significant financial advantage.
That says something important: voters are looking closely, and they’re making up their own minds about our records. They want real, tangible solutions to bring down costs, create housing opportunities, and protect due process from ICE lawlessness. And they want fighters who stand firm in their values, not someone who suddenly finds new ones when it suits their ambitions.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this effort so far. We’re going to keep showing up, keep doing the work, and take this campaign all the way to the finish line. #ImWithJulie
To the voters of TX-33, thank you for showing up and making your voices heard. I’m grateful for every conversation, every vote, and every volunteer who brought us here. This fight for our community is just getting started. Let's finish what we started — together.
Tonight, no candidate has secured a majority in TX-33, which means it looks like the race is headed for a runoff. We will continue to monitor the Election Day results as they come in.
Texas Election Day Update: Chaos in Dallas
In monitoring Election Day turnout, VoteHub analysts @umichvoter and @ZacharyDonnini have identified notably low same-day turnout in Dallas County. This stands in contrast to comparatively strong early vote performance in the county and solid Election Day turnout across other major counties statewide. Dallas County is the second-largest Democratic stronghold in Texas and serves as U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s political base.
These observations coincide with claims from the Texas Democratic Party that “nearly a third” of voters in Dallas are being turned away. @dallasnews has characterized conditions at certain polling locations as “chaos,” and @wfaa has similarly reported that numerous voters have been unable to cast ballots. According to @James_Barragan, the @JasmineForUS campaign has expressed concern regarding the reported number of voters turned away.
The Texas Democratic Party attributes the situation to confusion over polling locations following the decision by Republican officials not to conduct countywide unified Joint Primaries, instead opting to use paper ballots. Party officials have also suggested that similar issues may be occurring in Williamson County, State Rep. James Talarico’s home base, though Williamson is substantially smaller than Dallas.
We anticipate that the @JasmineForUS campaign may seek an extension of polling hours in Dallas County beyond the scheduled 7:00 PM CT close. At this time, we have no insight into the likelihood of such a request being granted. VoteHub will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates as additional information becomes available.
I’m covering a coordinated, multi-agency law enforcement operation across D-FW today.
An adult video store on Harry Hines was one such target. I saw federal and local law enforcement on the scene.
