I mean from the perspective of a Bayesian, can we really give any ex ante credence to the possibility that someone named Bayes had important mathematical observations?

The average person never makes a novel contribution to probability theory, so how could we expect any given person to have done so?

Clearly no reason to learn "Bayes's Rule," or whatever it's called. I'm sure it's all much ado about nothing.
