Two citizens, starkly contrasted:
One fights for our country, risking his life for our freedom—Ben Roberts-Smith, VC, MG, former Australian SASR corporal awarded the Victoria Cross.
The other...Wissam Haddad (aka Abu Ousayd), is a Sydney-based radical Islamic preacher who ran the shuttered Al Madina Dawah Centre in Bankstown. In July 2025, Australia's Federal Court branded him "fundamentally racist and antisemitic" for vile online sermons post-October 2023, calling Jews "treacherous," "murderous," and "descendants of apes and pigs"—with authorities linking him to a terrorism recruitment hub tied to pro-ISIS networks.
And one of them is being arrested.
Australian Office of Special Investigations director Ross Barnett on the Ben Roberts-Smith allegations: “We don’t have access to the crime scenes. We don’t have photographs, site plans, measurements, the recovery of projectiles, blood spatter.
We don’t have access to the deceased. There’s no post-mortem report, there’s no official cause of death, there’s no recovery of projectiles to link to weapons that might have been carried by members of the ADF.”
Right! So that settles it then, Ben Roberts-Smith is innocent.
