The Sydney Swans are facing immense backlash after awarding the Bob Skilton Medal to star midfielder Isaac Heeney.

Heeney won the club’s highest individual honour despite being stood down for the remainder of the season due to a serious breach of behavioural standards at Melbourne's Pullman Hotel.

Former NRL great, Ian Roberts, strongly condemned the club on social media, stating the Swans have “enormous work to do in relation to the treatment of women”
