As most of you know, baseball is the only sport I cover.
I eat, sleep, and breathe baseball.
It’s not a side project. It’s not a hobby. It’s where I spend my mornings, nights, weekends, vacations, and countless hours in between.
And as someone who grew up in Nebraska, the College World Series has always meant something more.
There is so much pride that comes with knowing our state serves as the home of the biggest stage in college baseball. Every June, Omaha becomes the center of the baseball world. I’ve had the privilege of covering the College World Series twice, and those experiences only deepened my appreciation for the event and the responsibility that comes with telling its stories.
When I cover the College World Series, I don’t show up to follow one team. I cover the entire event. I spend my days telling the stories of all eight teams, the players, the coaches, the fans, and the moments that make Omaha special. I take that responsibility seriously.
That’s why learning that I was denied College World Series credentials for the second consecutive year really hurts.
Last year’s denial led to the best year of baseball coverage I’ve ever had.
When I didn’t get the opportunity I wanted, I decided to create new ones.
I covered the MLB Winter Meetings. I covered the World Baseball Classic. I covered the Big Ten Baseball Tournament in Omaha. This weekend, I’ll be covering NCAA Regionals. I continued building Babe’s Babes Media, growing my audience, and finding new ways to contribute to the game I love.
Looking back, I can honestly say last year’s denial fueled me.
It made me work harder.
It made me think bigger.
It made me bet on myself.
Because if there’s one thing baseball teaches you, it’s that you don’t always get the call you’re hoping for.
You show up anyway.
You keep writing.
You keep learning.
You keep finding ways to tell the stories that matter.
The work doesn’t stop because one door didn’t open.
So I’ll keep showing up.
I’ll keep chasing stories.
And I’ll keep betting on the work. ⚾️

Connecting the people behind the game.
From MLB front offices and MiLB clubs to scouts, coaches, analysts, player development, sports science, business operations, partnerships and beyond — this community continues to grow because of the professionals who make baseball run every day.
Grateful to hit 2,500 followers with people across all levels of the game.
Excited for the next chapter and the continued growth of the Baseball Operations Network ⚾️
