@DaireONeill24 Hey Dáire, we're an Irish family and I worked as a cinnire in Spleodar in Leitir Móir during school, so I respect your view here. The name was chosen as an homage to our roots, while also considering the pronunciation for families in the UK where it is exclusively sold.
@stopvaccinating Hi, the source of folic acid is the same in the European and US products. The difference is in the labelling requirements. Under EU /UK law we are obliged to use the term in the nutritional table as “folate” on the packaging for infant and follow on formula.
@ai_outlander@VanessaBails@LeilaniDowding@FarmingUK@KendamilUK@Kendamil_USA We have answered all questions that have been shared with us by parents. As outlined by our team in the screenshot - we do not source milk from Arla UK. Arla is trialling the feed with a small set of their farms and supermarkets. It's entirely unrelated to Kendamil.
@ai_outlander@LeilaniDowding@FarmingUK@KendamilUK@Kendamil_USA This is incorrect, and our team have answered all questions we have received on the topic. The feed is being trialled with a small set of Arla farms in the UK we have absolutely no relationship with.
Over the past two weeks, our team has ramped up production to replenish Kendamil Goat at Target as quickly as possible.
While fresh stock of our Goat, Classic, and Organic formulas are delivered to Target every week, we recognize our Goat formula is selling out quickly once it hits the shelves. Please trust that we’re producing at higher levels than ever before, to ensure we can meet the needs of all Kendamil families.
Much of our newly produced formula is already on its way to the US, with shipments arriving by both boat and plane to speed up delivery.
Our customer care team is ready to assist you with personalised solutions for your baby’s needs.
Additionally, the availability of Kendamil Classic and Organic at Walmart does not impact our focus on, or availability of, Goat at Target; rather, it brings our formula closer to more Kendamil families, who are traveling long distances to reach their nearest store.
We can assure you that our entire team are fully focused on increasing our production to ensure we keep all existing Kendamil families served.

Hi Nilesh, we're shipping stock to Target every week and will continue to in increased quantities. Unfortunately for many parents the product is going out of stock as soon as it comes back, partially down to bulk buying. I would suggest you monitor https://t.co/qeGFrOaiZe for in stock alerts and can promise we're doing all we can to keep shelves stocked.
I am at the factory today to share an update on @Kendamil_USA Goat Infant Formula.
As you may know, stores are currently low on stock. While it’s temporary - we understand it is highly stressful for parents, especially for families who rely on an alternative to cow’s milk infant formula for their little ones.
We’ve already ramped up production of Kendamil Goat to meet and exceed this demand. It will however take time for the product to arrive in the US and replenish stores fully.
We have pinned helpful information to the top of our social feeds and our customer service team is standing by to help parents with a personalised alternative for you and your family.

kendamil formula – Kendamil formula is a UK-made brand of infant milk formula, free from palm oil and GMOs. It has grown 29,018% since 2019 https://t.co/lcodaBCLxe
With all of this reporting on retailers 'slashing' the price of Aptamil, you'd be forgiven for thinking it isn't *still* the most expensive cow's milk baby formula in the UK (which Aptamil Advanced is at £19).
Despite a long-overdue price correction, Aptamil's cheapest formula is still over 12% more expensive than Kendamil Classic - a product that is uniquely made in the UK, with a premium recipe using whole milk and free from palm oil, soy oil and fish oil.
Huge thank you to Grant & @KendamilUK for conducting the draws today.
Kendamil are a family owned business & are the only British based baby milk & formula makers, located right in the heart of Westmorland!
We are very grateful for their sponsorship.

@babyfriendly, how does the WHO and BFI UK propose new suppliers get in touch with NHS procurement individuals and feeding advisors to communicate non-promotional, factual information on new products available to the NHS (though we have been available for ~2 years)?
Kendamil is available to all NHS Trusts (code ABT096) at a price cheaper than what they currently pay Danone (Cow&Gate/Aptamil/Aptamil Advanced), Nestle (SMA) and HIPP.
If parents decide to purchase formula after they leave the hospital in their local supermarket, Kendamil is £1.50 cheaper per 800g tub than SMA and HIPP, £2.50 cheaper than Aptamil and £7 cheaper than Aptamil Advanced. Many NHS hospitals offer parents Aptamil Advanced, leading them directly to the most expensive formula option in the market.
The graph attached to this tweet is from the Competitions and Markets Authority report which came out in December 2023 and compares the annualised cost of infant formula. Kendamil is the only British manufacturer of infant formula and directly supports 200 jobs in the North of England as well as the farming community.
We try to communicate to procurement professionals in the NHS that Kendamil is a cheaper alternative for both the NHS and parents in the community, but are extremely limited on what we can say, and who we can speak with, due to restrictions on communications between healthcare professionals and infant formula companies.
Notably Danone and Nestle both started supplying the NHS prior to the strictest implementation of the BFI initiative which is partially responsible for the limited communications between industry and the NHS (which to be clear, we don't oppose). Additionally, these companies are able to speak to healthcare professionals due to their supply of other, non-restricted goods like bottled sterile water and medicated products like infant formula for cows milk protein allergy.
Until the NHS offers a more diverse supply of infant formula options - or an unbranded NHS option - the status quo will continue.
