Ben Davison is the worst coach I have ever seen and that is the first time I have ever seen a fighter basically knock himself out. Absolutely embarrassing fight management. #ItaumaHrgovic
@DAZNBoxing Have to say, that's one of the worst stamina capitulations I've ever seen at this level
Borderline laughable
Hopefully this may have just been a freak occurrence. But if his stamina is inherently THAT bad, he will have more problems against harder, braver punchers
@bigp_16@IFLTV Yes, I'm aware they've asked for updated terms
But I don't know exactly what those updated terms are for me to automatically KNOW they will be fair and reasonable
Do you?
@nucleartripod@CurtP_ True, they don't fight in the same style (which is intense)
But there's no escaping the fact that even with such a style, it is very worrying to be breathing heavily as early as round 3! Especially when, in return, you haven't even taken any punishment yourself
@PaulSmithJnr "but he needs to change things"
One of them being his corner
Itauma proved he has nearly all the tools to become a good world champion. He just needs to fix his tactics and have a better coach guiding him
@RobbieXT@downpresssorman@certifiedzester But that's not what's being argued
The point is, Itauma was questioning people praising Hrgovic's good chin - saying a good chin doesn't matter
But this fight proved exactly why Hrgovic's good chin DID matter.
@nucleartripod@CurtP_ Yes it is diabolical
Sure, he fought at a high pace. But as have other heavyweights of this generation without capitulating as quick as that (Dubois, Wardley, Parker, etc). Even AJ showed better stamina at that stage
Do agree on poor cornerwork though
@WadePlem Poor take
He simply mistook Song's celebration, as Song charging at him. He reacted defensively, but quickly pulled his elbow back when he realised what was happening. He then went back to tending to his fighter.
@WadePlem@Miz_UTD He didn't jump into confront Song
He jumped in to tend to his fighter
He mistook Song's celebration as Song charging at him. It was a defensive reaction. He quickly realised Song wasn't attacking him, and he pulled back.
