Varsity baseball (1-0) opened the season with a combined no-hitter from Kyle Popovich and Dylin Thomas as the Bulldogs defeated Lakeside Christian (FL) 15-0 in a four-inning run-rule victory.
Popovich got the start on the mound for the Bulldogs and went three innings, allowing no hits and three walks while striking out seven. Thomas pitched the final inning, allowing no hits and one walk while striking out three.
The Bulldog offense plated seven runs in the first inning to take a commanding early lead. They added seven more runs in the third before scoring the final run in the fourth inning to end the game in run-rule fashion.
Pierce Douglas led the Bulldogs with two hits and five RBI, including an inside-the-park grand slam. Matthew Kirby and Cole Henderson each added two RBI.
The Bulldogs scored 15 runs on 12 hits. 11 Bulldogs recorded hits. Lakeside committed nine errors.
