As an undergraduate student in the Faculty of Agriculture, Obafemi Awolowo University, I have spent the past five years gaining a deeper understanding of the vital importance of food security.
Read "TJ Young & the Orishas" and TJ was annoyed about how his "Yoruba culture" made his mum throw a big funeral party for his 20-something year old sister
Irritating AF. Yorùbá parents throwing a funeral for their child ke? Literally èèwọ̀ to even attend your child's funeral.
you think you are not being punished for your sins, yet you have been deprived of Qiyām Layl, your daily portion of the Qur’an, and the goodness of these blessed 10 days.
you have been deprived of nawaafil, sadaqah and it's difficult for you to even repeat the takbeer.
your heart has been sealed but you are unaware because you're not afflicted in your worldly affairs.
punishment, sometimes, is being deprived from worshipping Allāh.
See this kit as a “welcome to puberty” type of thing. No one is expecting you to buy one every single time you bleed.
Most girls didn’t have a good start with bleeding, and some still hate it to this day.
Buying stuff like this for them at the beginning to ease them into it isn’t a bad idea if we’re being honest.
URGENT APPEAL: HELP SAVE A FUTURE DOCTOR
Mustapha Bashir Ayodeji, a brilliant 300L MBBS (Medical) student at the University of Ilorin (Unilorin), was halfway to his dream of saving lives when tragedy struck. He has been diagnosed with CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE.

Built something for the culture today.
Kó Yorùbà, it’s a Yoruba learning app. I was able to do this within an hour.
Still need more improvements tho, but I love where it’s going.

We are currently working on a project to dig a well in one of our masjids and convert it to a pumping system, so water can be accessed more easily instead of manual fetching.
The total cost exceeded our initial budget, and despite all efforts, we are still short of ₦166,800 as of this morning.
Our goal is to complete this before the next Jumuʿah (8th of May).

A year ago today, I left everything familiar with just 2 boxes and a heart full of uncertainties. I knew little or no one. The fear was real. The loneliness was loud.
But today, I see growth.
Through it all… it can only be Allah.
Alhamdulillah Rabil Aalameen.🤲🏻🤲🏻🤲🏻
@qaribasmad As salam alaykum, @qaribasmad .
In the past weeks, I've been thrown into introspection; how well I've done in academics (gain of the dunya), while extremely lagging in Islamic knowledge (gain of the akhira).
This post came in handy, and by Allah, I'll put in my ALL if selected.
Good day everyone, my name is MaryRose. I'm a medical student at the LAUTECH TEACHING HOSPITAL and this is a fundraiser post.
A couple of weeks ago, precisely on the 16th of April, 2026, there was a fire outbreak in Ogbomoso and the building affected was a students' lodge. Two of my classmates and friends lived in this hostel.
We were in school, having a laboratory practical session when they were informed that their hostel was on fire.
In a couple of hours, the entire first floor of the building was razed and only the ground floor was unscathed.
Unfortunately, one of my two classmates was affected by the fire. She lost everything she had save for the dress she was wearing and her school bag. Everything was lost. Things she had gathered over the years. Her clothes. Her textbooks. Her stethoscope. Her documents. Everything was lost.
We know that we cannot possibly imagine or fathom all that she might be going through right now but we have decided to step up, as her friends, and help in the little way that we can. And that is the reason for this fundraiser.
Over the next couple of days or weeks, we are hoping to raise five hundred thousand naira to help one of our own get back on her feet. We will appreciate any form of help during this period, in cash or in kind(clothes, shoes medical school textbooks, medical instruments etc).
If this post comes up on your page, please take a moment to read, donate and share.
Let's come together to help our classmate and friend smile again.
