🦍 FFPC Big Gorilla Tourney (industry room w/ Gretch & Siegele) @YardsPerGretch@FF_Contrarian
7th spot 🍌 — decided to anchor around Malik Nabers.
First 5 picks:
1️⃣ Nabers
2️⃣ Chase Brown
3️⃣ Lamar
4️⃣ Harvey
5️⃣ LaPorta
WRs flew early (as expected), so I pivoted to a contrarian WR build. In TEP, Laporta + Kraft give me a structural edge at TE.
RB room behind Brown and Harvey (Pollard / Charb / Tahj Brooks / Tucker) adds depth + contingent upside. WR corps rounds out w/ Mooney + young bets (Pat Bryant, J. Higgins, Bateman).
Not the classic WR-heavy start, but leaned into room dynamics + format edges. Happy with how the portfolio construction turned out.
De’Von Achane was a healthy scratch in Week 1 of his rookie season. If managers are already panicking on Jaydon Blue, that’s your cue to explore the market and capture the value gap. Long-term vision succeeds in dynasty.
I’m not drawing a 1:1 Achane comp by any means, but nothing in Javonte Williams’ performance should move you off Blue. I’m excited for his pass catching chops in this Dallas offense.
Panthers are re-signing WR Hunter Renfrow to their active roster, per sources. Renfrow played at Clemson, and now will get to play at Carolina.
In a corresponding move, Carolina WR Jalen Coker is being placed on IR due to a quad injury.
Can you help me understand why?
📉 Everyone’s sleeping on Darnell Mooney. Time to take advantage.
• 106 targets in 2024
• 64 catches | 992 yards | 5 TDs
• 15.5 yards per reception
• No real competition added

Mooney is the Falcons’ clear WR2 behind Drake London and a vital playmaker for rookie QB Michael Penix Jr.
And let’s be honest… Penix uncertainty >>> 2024 Kirk Cousins ghost.

Injury discount baked into his ADP after a minor July shoulder issue. That’s exactly where you buy.
🚀 Jacory Croskey-Merritt 🌕
The haters will anchor his ADP to the ocean floor. If they didn’t draft him, they’ll dismiss every drumbeat, cradle their bearish bias like a baby blanket, and convince themselves “it can’t last.”
Meanwhile, some of us Dynasty believers emptied FAAB on JCM in May, strapped a vibe rocket to his cleats, and decided to Rudy-chant this 7th-round underdog BILL straight to the f*ckin’ moon. 🚀🌕
Here’s to the dreamers. To the fantasy degenerates who’d rather back the improbable than nod with the cynics. 🥂
♻️ Retweet to fuel Bill’s rocket before the haters ground control it.
Final Thoughts
Drafting on ESPN requires knowing:
•Rankings bias (players buried vs market)
•How full PPR + 3WR + deep benches change replacement value
•When to lean into upside vs. “safe” floor
My build:
•Anchor rushing QB
•Young WR core with volume + ceiling
•Deep bench of RBs with contingent upside
If even half of these bets hit, this roster has championship ceiling.
🧵 Drafting from the 1.07 in a 12-team full PPR (ESPN)
Round-by-round breakdown of my process ⬇️
⸻
Pre-Draft Context
•Platform: ESPN → most drafters lean heavily on ESPN rankings. That means ADP quirks you can exploit if you’ve done independent prep.
•Format: Full PPR, 3 WR start, deeper benches → pass-catchers & contingent RBs hold more relative value than in shallow formats. This heavily shaped my approach.
Round 13: Will Shipley
Direct handcuff to Barkley. In ESPN scoring (full PPR), he’d be plug-and-play if Saquon misses time.
Round 14: Ollie Gordon II
Perfect deep bench swing. With Achan/Wright banged up, Gordon flashed in preseason and could carve out immediate touches. Contingent upside + stand-alone value.
Rounds 15-16: Kicker + DEF
Always wait until the end. Use earlier picks for upside RBs/WRs that can actually move the needle.
“Cancer in the locker room” is wild. Parsons just wanted to get paid - then Jerry pulled his classic handshake circus and tried to circumvent his agent. That’s when it went sour.
I get the point about big games.. fair critique. But I hope you bring that same energy to Dak… who’s been MIA in every major moment.
Bottom line: you don’t trade a generational talent in-conference to the team that just cooked you in the playoffs - unless you’re folding before the season even starts.
Congrats on the lottery-pick 1sts, though. Maybe they combined turn into… I don’t know, half of Parsons?
But hey, trust the process… whatever that is in Jerry’s world.
This team has no identity. Just dollars for Jerry and attention as the endgame.
At what point does Cowboys Nation realize they’re funding their own purgatory?
Every hat, jersey, and bumper sticker is another vote of confidence for Jerry Jones’ ego-driven empire.
Now he’s botched the Micah Parsons situation. No identity. No long-term plan. No ring incoming.
How exactly do you win a Super Bowl like this?

🚨 Jerry Jones still living in 1995 🚨
“We get things done with eye contact and a handshake.”
At this point, Jerry has turned weaponized incompetence into a Cowboys brand tradition.
Attempting to corner Micah Parsons without his agent isn’t just outdated… it’s a blatant affront to the stature of one of the NFL’s premier talents and his family.
