This is incredibly dangerous rhetoric from the Home Secretary.

Shabana Mahmood is publicly threatening the “full force of the law” against Danny Tommo before the planned Piddington protest has even taken place.

Whatever your opinion of Danny Tommo, Britain has laws for a reason. You cannot punish someone simply because you disagree with their viewpoints.

If he or anyone else commits a crime, investigate it and prosecute accordingly.

But a Home Secretary singling out an individual in advance and using language like this sets a deeply worrying precedent.

The law must be applied equally, not politically.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has threatened Danny Tommo with the “full force of the law” if he or members of Patriot Platform commit crimes, while also branding him “far-right” and an “outright racist”.

Threatening him before any offence has been committed looks like an attempt to intimidate people out of lawful protest.

People are angry because mass immigration, illegal migrant accommodation and weak border control have been forced on communities for years.

The Government created this mess. Now it is turning its anger on the people protesting against it.
