🇬🇷 Stamatis Moraitis was a Greek man who had been living in the United States for many years when he was diagnosed with lung cancer and given just a few months left to live.
Instead of going through aggressive treatment in the U.S., he decided to return to his home island of Ikaria to spend his final days.
Once back in Ikaria, his lifestyle completely shifted:
- He started eating a traditional Mediterranean diet (fresh vegetables, olive oil, local wine)
- He drank herbal teas made from local plants
- He slowed down and lived without stress
- He reconnected with family, friends, and community
- He spent time outdoors and stayed active (gardening, walking)
Months passed… then years.
Moraitis regained his health, his cancer symptoms disappeared, and he lived another 35-40 years... even outliving the doctors who had originally diagnosed him with cancer!
@chadtownsend10 I don’t rate him. I see the points we cop every week. It would be embarrassing to say that you’re responsible for that defence… He has a record of 2-7 coaching first grade. His last stint was diabolical. If he makes no changes to the line up, what is the actual point?
@mailroomsgi Yep what an easy cop out. How embarrassing. No progress is made with this appointment. If his selection remains the same, ultimately what’s the point??
