Last week we were joined by Ukraine ministers @Aly_shkrum and Mr Anatolii Kutselov at our Steering Group meeting on Ukraine – discussing five new grant proposals worth €25.6 million for energy efficiency, district heating, and water infrastructure.

Sweden, Germany, Norway and Ireland highlighted E5P's work at the @EBRD Annual Meeting in Riga today. Thank you to all our donors for standing in solidarity with Ukraine and Moldova despite Russia's ongoing war.

Last year, we raised €2.1 billion in new donor resources, helping deliver real results across the EBRD regions.

Children in Chișinău have to deal with cold classrooms — all while the country faces an energy crisis following the halt of Russian gas transit in 2025.
E5P's €7M grant, alongside @EBRD and @EIB loans, will fund the renovation of up to 30 kindergartens for 10,000 children.

This week, Kindergartens No. 74 & 138 in Yerevan inaugurated their energy-efficient renovations. Supported by @EIB , EU, E5P & @theGCF (via @UNDP), the project improves heating, air quality & lighting – creating better learning conditions for young children.

🇺🇦 Grant approved: E5P will co-finance €22.07m with @EBRD to support emergency measures for Kyiv’s district heating. Kyivteploenergo's cogeneration units will help restore heat and electricity for over 1 million residents and strengthen the city’s energy resilience.

At the 27 Feb District Heating Efficiency Forum in Chișinău, partners discussed modernising heating in Chișinău and Bălți. With winters below freezing and pressure from Russia’s war against Ukraine, reliable district heating matters more than ever. #Moldova

Every power plant in Ukraine has sustained damage from Russian attacks, leaving thousands without heat and light in -20C freezing conditions.

E5P projects are helping more than 8.7 million in communities across Ukraine – and we are determined to do more.

In Rivne, western Ukraine, pressure on hospitals and schools is growing as the city supports 20,000+ displaced people.

With an @EBRD loan and an E5P grant, 24 public buildings will be upgraded with energy-efficient measures to keep essential services running during power cuts.

Following the E5P Annual Assembly last year, Germany announced additional support of €10 million.

The contribution will support recovery efforts in Ukraine and energy efficiency upgrades in Moldova.

Last Friday, our donors and partners announced and signed €25.8m in new support for E5P countries at the @EBRD in London. These contributions will help modernise local infrastructure, strengthen energy resilience and expand the impact of E5P projects across the region.

Children at Spicușor Kindergarten in Chișinău used to wear coats in class. Now, with help from the @EBRD, Sweden and E5P donors & partners, new windows, radiators & solar panels keep the school warm. A mural by Dmitri Potapov & the children now brings their drawings to the walls.

Following the @E5PFund Assembly end of November, Germany provided additional funds of €8M for Ukraine and €2M for Moldova.

Germany remains one of the key contributors to the fund helping war torn Ukraine and EE upgrades in Moldova.
