The data show that EAC exports are still heavily concentrated:
⛏️ Copper alone = ~39% of exports
💎 Precious metals = ~19.5%

It’s 350 MILLION people
And 77.5% are under 35.

Clean energy is now helping keep trade moving at some of Kenya’s busiest borders.
At Malaba, a new solar system is expected to cut electricity costs by about 90%, while reducing the risk of power outages disrupting clearance on the Northern Corridor.
TMA has supported similar work at Moyale One Stop Border Post, strengthening operations along the LAPSSET Corridor, with both initiatives funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Nairobi through the KETEI programme and implemented together with the @KRACorporate
As TMA advances the no-stop borders agenda, investments that support reliable power matter a lot. Fewer interruptions mean continuous movement of trucks with minimal delays, in addition to lower operating costs and supporting steadier border operations.
The project was officially launched by Håkan Åkesson, @SwedeninKE, alongside George Aduwi, Deputy Commissioner, KRA, and Lillian Mwai - Ndegwa, Kenya Country Director, TMA
