Of all the graffiti in Lisbon, Portugal, this was by far my favorite. An anatomically (albeit cartoonish) clitoris had me thinking of @drrachelrubin even on vacation!
Two years ago my mentor, Dr @FrankJev13 passed. He was a wise teacher and he exuded kindness and patience. I was lucky to learn from him & think of him often. He once told me life is too short to waste any time on any unfulfilling endeavors. He certainly lived a fulfilled life!
The clitoris is "completely ignored" in medical communities, experts say. That omission can be devastating to patients' sexual health, and some doctors are increasingly advocating for better research about the organ. https://t.co/9mdcufUDKD
UPDATE!!! She came in for her 8 week follow up and reported the vaginal estrogen has changed her life. She’s having sex and swimming in a pool again. Not a single UTI symptom. She was overjoyed! A simple solution that can greatly impact women with GSM. @drrachelrubin
Today I saw a woman who has been treated by an outside urologist for UTIs for the past 18 months with self start abx and then prophylaxis for 3 months without a single urine specimen or mention of vaginal estrogen. I COULD SCREAM! 🤬
I was initially embarrassed when I found out my boyfriend (now husband) had a squatty potty. But as @kconnordpt said yesterday “every household in America should have one!” Let’s embrace it and improve our #pelvicfloorhealth! #pelvicfloorpt@CaseUrology@UH_MacDonald
“We have created a culture where menopause is a disease, we have created a culture where there is not enough information for women.” We need to start talking about menopause! - @DrJenGunter#MenopauseSymposium
A hot flash is not “just a hot flash” - vasomotor symptoms increase cardiovascular risk by increasing cholesterol, BMI, blood pressure. Symptoms should be addressed, patients should not be told they’ll go away on their own. @LisaLarkinMD@UH_MacDonald#menopause#womenshealth
@GMarshRN I would recommend finding someone who specializes in female urology or urogynecology. I always encourage patients to get a second opinion and find someone they feel comfortable discussing it with.

@PBajicMD Miss urology frequently! And especially the people. So for now I just grab every urology complaint, see them first and send them only if needed 🙃
Women’s healthcare IS healthcare. Providers who don’t take the time to brush up on basic women’s health issues are continuing to uphold patriarchal ideas.
He told her if the UTIs came back she’d have to be on antibiotics the rest of her life 🤬 We had a long conversation and I pointed her to @drrachelrubin accounts for further info. She was so grateful. And I was left wondering how some people are still allowed to practice 😑
